I disagree that season 3 has been strong. I think it’s been pretty inconsistent and often of poor quality. It’s had solid episodes, but they’ve been offset by just as many stinkers.

I kinda find it funny how overall most people seemed to agree that episode by episode Season 3 was probably the most consistently strong yet, but then the moment this appeared everyone instantly was like “RUINED FOREVER SHOW HAS ALREADY GONE TO SHIT”. Then again Fandoms tend to have memories like goldfishes so perhaps it shouldn’t really surprise me that the strength of the rest of the season is being utterly ignored in favor of panic wailing that the end is nigh.
 
Given that the rest of the season wasn’t a mindless toy commercial I’m hardly ready to jump on the “we’re DOOOOMED bandwagon”

Well, the argument itself is just making fun of the endless assumptions people are making based on something that they have no actual knowledge of beyond the “definitely” column. Even listing the good things that can come of this are only “Maybe”s too

Hey, I’m just commenting on the list provided. Things that might happen: doom and gloom. Things that will definitely happen: nothing important. I don’t see good on either side.
 
I’m more in support of Twilight becming an alicorn than I am of Cadance being an alicorn out of nowhere, and I’m pretty much fine with Cadance. I’m just poking holes in the argument made.

@Ashes Or maybe they have a good plot written about being a princess which opens up new doors for them as writers that also so happens to serve as a marketing stunt (which, btw, was why the show was made in the first place)

You could replace “might” with “probably won’t” in that first list and have the same outcome.

But gen 3.5 DID happen, a few years ago.

So, in other words, either it’s going to suck, or it’s going to be a meaningless marketing stunt.
