Well there’s more than just power here. There’s also a nauseating amount of extra “specialness” being crammed down our throats now. There really is no reason for it that wouldn’t have a negative impact on the Slice of Life manner of it. The other 5 are still working their way through things, perfectly normal ponies for the most part. (Dash being a borderline exception with her flying abilities, but she’s actually working towards the goal of being a Wonderbolt, not just having her titles handed to her on a silver platter for WRITING A SENTENCE.)
 
It’s incredibly distracting to have one character that is objectively more “special” than the others, especially after an episode with that moral and the seen consequences if they didn’t do what they do.

We don’t really know much of anything about them, narrative wise. This is why I get annoyed when people state “boo! Now she’s just an over-powered mary sue”
