the color comes from a beast in the movie “pacific rim,” supposedly. she’s orchid: a character created by khorme as something of an antagonist in their comic, ultramare, which tumblr unfortunately took down before ultramare went completely nuts.

and I guess alloyrabbit just likes drawing orchid a lot.
