They could have easily allowed it if they had wanted. Like Microsoft allowed Red vs Blue. When Rooster Teeth was contacted early by Microsoft, they thought it was over but instead it was to basically make it official.
I’m not sure they can legally use fan material, and such. That’s why alot of companies don’t do it often.
I think it’s maybe better that “Fighting is Magic” became “Fighting Herds” instead as that allows it to become it’s own IP Indie game possibly. Much like how “Freedom Planet” became it’s own thing, sense it was almost going to be a Sonic fan game originally. If it stayed that way, it would be hampered, or limited by the Sonic gameplay style, and wouldn’t be it’s own IP.

I thought occurs to me that’s the whole true magic thing is what they did after the elements for actually destroyed

Well, people always complain, no matter what you’ll do. Just look back at all the “it’s the end of the show” moments we got because of new toy ideas XD
Cadance, Flurry, Alicorn Twilight, Rainbow Power, Equestria Girls, Tempest Shadow (despite being an Edge God OC everyone hated before the movie).
People are always making drama, so if Hasbro would have reacted different, just think of all the possibilities. I’m not only speaking about Rainbow Power but also fan projects.
Instead of destroying fan games, they could have offered them win/win contract to protect their copyright without making fans mad. Fighting is Magic could have become a big win for Hasbro and they wouldn’t even had to spent money to create the game
Remember the good old days when it was just the Megazord, Dragonzord, and Ultrazord? These days in Super Sentai/Power Rangers pretty much every single episode has introduce something new.
Other franchises like tmnt operated pretty much under monster of the week so they would have lots of new mutants to make toys.Power rangers are constantly getting new weapons and gadgets and pretty much reboots every year (now 2 years) so they can do it all again
Yeah, there’s also stuff that could’ve been a toy, but never was. Heck, Nightmare Moon, and Queen Chrysalis didn’t get an official toy until years after the show introduced them, and during times when they weren’t very relevant to the show.
So as I said before, I don’t understand why some ex-bronies bash the show for “being a toy commercial,” as honestly for the past few years it kinda failed at that, with all the potential toy tie-ins they could’ve put in, or things introduced in the show that could’ve become toys.

technically speaking toy-etic is just something that could easily become a toy not something that was a toy.
But then again nobody ever actually checked the toys anymore just assume that is. even as recently as the students clubhouse people were saying it was a toy plug and that was after the toy fair
Well, like it, or not, it’s still a toy show. I’d say the castle was just a bonus, and it did add some new things to the show, like the map missions.
Transformers used to kill characters off, to make room for new toys. Be glad, MLP:FIM wasn’t that “toy-etic” in comparison. (Heck, there hasn’t been many toy promotions in the show sense Rainbow Power.) Though, I do kinda agree, they could’ve done more with their new Rainbow Power super forms. (But then I guess fans would complain about them.)

That’s kinda funny, ‘cause I remember back before their Rainbow Power forms appeared in the show, some were actually afraid they were going to be permanent redesigns. Which I don’t get, because their Crystalized forms weren’t permanent, and very brief too.
And damn, six years already.
