@MrSBright
There are a lot of G1 comic scans on this site, actually, and there’s a tumblr called heckyeahponyscans that has scanned every one they can get their hands on (as well as a lot of other stuff from a lot of gens.)
Now, when I say comic, they’re short stories with narration for each panel, rather than anything like the longer story you might find in a Marvel or DC comic (even a single-issue one.) And a lot of characters are quite different from their TV versions. But they’re worth a read.
As for my favorite, I did enjoy Cotton Candy being such a goofball and yet able to basically become the closest thing this kind of setting has to a medical expert; you had even non-ponies coming to her from far and wide, and yet you also have Moondancer putting her into a magical coma after her hard work in the garden had gotten gobbled up one time too many. But my favorite’s always gonna be Wind Whistler. Can’t go wrong with Pony Spock.
@Phantom Rider
I don’t think I’ve read the comic that features Cotton Candy in it. I feel that fits with my interpretation of Gen One her, haha.
Yeah that’s why “fluttershy” appeared in my tags. I forgot. XD I will say it doesn’t.
I will like to read it if I ever find it. So was this you finding your favourite mare? :3 It’s fun drawing the original Six. ;)
Well, Cotton Candy has the unfair advantage of having actually been in stuff. In the comic, she was a goofball who went around eating everyone’s flowers because of her insatiable sweet tooth, but she actually became a very competent medic! The others don’t really have a way of standing out, though Minty having a popular later counterpart and Butterscotch being the usual name for gender swap Flutters means someone might feel something for those names, though that doesn’t really count, does it?
I know there’s actually an FIM comic with these six doing… something… but I haven’t read ’em. It was good to know the six who started it all had finally gotten some recognition, though.
That’s cool I suppose. I am not on Tumblr.
That’s fine for me, I read some manga like that. If it improves their character then that’s okay.
I didn’t know that about Cotton Candy. I can fuse that into my rendition of her. Is Wind Whistler really like that, haha?
