I agree. In fact, a lot of story opportunities can arise from this. In fact, her friends treating her differently because of her title can serve as the basis of an episode, and teach the lesson we’ve been saying all this time: Just because someone changes a little bit doesn’t mean they aren’t the same person they always were.

You know what, back at s3e01 when it was hinted that Twi could possibly ascent into an alicorn with the test, next level of studies, preparing her for something, Cadance being the previous crystal princess etc etc I said I hated the idea of Twiley becoming an alicorn, I take it back. Come on you guys this is the same show we have watched for so long and when did the writers let us down? Hating on alicorn Twi is retarded, Twi is a character we all know and love so why does anything have to change cause she becomes an alicorn? She is still the nerdy ocd bookworm that we have grown to love and I trust the writers can pull this off, be it a 1 episode transformation or a permanent cause lets be honest, there is no way something as puny as etiquette and royal customs is going to prevent Twi from visiting ponyville every time she has free time and I really doubt the rest of the mane six are going to shy away from Twilight just cause she’s an alicorn.
 
TLDR Version: trust the writers and bitch less, wings or no wings it’s still Twi.

Secondly, I stated that you are assuming that Twi will just be your standard princess when by your own admission the shows crew is known for breaking the mold. I.e. I’d surmise that they have something epic planned for Twis new thing.

I don’t get your last post, but do something for me: Watch Care Bears or Strawberry Shortcake and tell me FiM doesn’t break stereotypes. Heck, watch an earlier gen and tell me it doesn’t.

Isthinking, look at the size of the tropes page, it fills a lot. In fact, I can turn this right around on your logic. Given the shows pedigree, do you expect Twi to just be your typical “princess”? They could have one mind-blowing, stereotype breaking, super awesome shit planned.

The molds it breaks is far, far more apparent than the ones it fills. No other show for little girls would have a character quite like Rarity.

Whim, I was talking to the BP in the comments, not the picture. He used the trope “Base Breaker”.

Northern, a trope and a stereotype need not be the same thing. For all the “molds” MLP breaks, it also fills in quite a few.

BP, since you want to trope I counter with “Rule of Cool”. Giving her wings is just to show how badass she is, doesn’t have to make sense, just has to be awesome.
