Maybe it’s the actual in-series style in a neutral position? I mean, the episodes definitely will feature crazy deformed stuff, but I think there’ll be a few moments (seconds?) that the characters will calm down a little bit.

It’s not “actual” in-series style, it’s just a character in a neutral position. It’s been very clear from the very beginning that animation will feature crazy deformed stuff. In order to deform something, you need a starting look. This is a starting look.
