Well yes, there is that - it’s mostly for disregarding a differing opinion on the basis of a perceived age of the person, regardless of their actual age (which is often unknown online anyway).
Oh I wasn’t strictly meaning younger than a Boomer, just younger than me. xD (I’m 37 - Gen X rules! ^^)
Probably a safe bet. Being 50+ and on here is unlikely(though not impossible).
I’m also pretty sure they’re using it more in the “opinion disregarded” sense.

Heeeeeeeey, just because BP doesn’t like something about the later seasons doesn’t mean they’re an older fan (or that being an older fan is a bad thing)… conflating one opinion with an entire generation isn’t helpful. :)
