I think it’s just people finding all that licking gross, nothing more.
Yeah I loved that it was supposed to be an April Fools’ joke but even that was late. Gotta love it.
I wouldn’t worry about it, yo. First off, it’s less of a “new direction” and more of a placeholder that 2snacks uses while working on bigger/longer videos. Second off, the downvotes might be a result of the FFVII Remake and Cloud’s popularity spiking all over again.
Either way, it’s whatever.

Other way around, actually. There was a TBSP with Cadence as Woolie that people love, and 2Snack’s original plan was to have Woolie as Chrysalis and Liam as Cadance, but changed that to Woolie being Chrysalis/Cadance and Liam as Twilight as a compromise.

Woolie was originally supposed to be Cadence, but people suggested that he should be Chrysalis instead. So 2Snacks compromised and did both.
That’s just what I was thinking in the same way.
So when you see the different eye color, its really Chrysalis who is hanging out with Twilight.
If you absolutely must, go bother Rufus. He’s off doing bad guy things poorly, so I don’t think you’ll be interrupting much.
