Idk if this is canon in my main verse but I definetely adore this~
Ever since I saw Cascayd’s HC of trans!Mac I was really interested in the idea. It even had me thinking about this headcanon I had come up with when I saw her post
“I personally kinda like to think Mac had suspected of these feelings but was in denial all along because of some insecurities of his own.
Not only because of the image of a strong and manly stallion he projected, but also because Big Mac felt particularly pressured to live up to his father Bright Mac, specially being kinda named after him. He didn’t want to “ruin” the image and memory of his father kind of, of a brave and strong stallion, and he felt scared that he wouldn’t be accepted (tho if he had come out he would very likely have been accepted with open arms by the apple family). To him, being feminine and coming out as a girl would somehow mean he wasn’t honoring the image of his father.”
Mac was so afraid of performing femininity she strongly avoided it, believing it was wrong for her to. Zephyr was the one who encouraged her to do so (he arranged her mane and makeup at the first ever time she realized who she truly was, it wasn’t the best mane arrangement ever but at least the intention counts lol). Zephyr encourages Mac to embrace who she truly is while she encourages him to pursue his dreams and aspirations as a hair stylist.
also let’s ignore I totally forgot Zephyr’s wings
Her transition was extremely accepted among the apple family, and now she’s known as Bright Red (Or Red B!). She still kept somewhat of a tribute to her late father’s name.
The bottom girl is their daughter Summer Beauty (whose original design was made by BubaIuv )

you cant magic life. just like you can’t magic the prevention of death.
What does biological sex have to do with some “balance”?
yes. because there is a balance in the universe and ‘‘magic’’ can’t change it all just on a whim.
So you’re saying magic, a force that pervades their reality on a fundamental level, a force that can warp the very fabric of reality, can’t permanently and completely change someone’s sex?
@Setsugekka
i think you could change genders with magic temporarily, but you would be sterile.
True, unfortunately, but we’re talking about a fictional world populated by magical talking horses with two god-princesses who raise and lower the sun, not reality
You can’t just perfectly change your gender in an instand in realy life.
It’s a world of magic and talking ponies, what exactly is “reality” in this context?
@Prometheus labs CEO
I think some writers refrain from using them, as they’re some sort of easy way to resolve such issues.
By not just transforming them to the other gender, they keep is realtivly close to reality.
