@Peroxy
Sorry you don’t realize it’s not even about “canon” vs. “implied.” Nor is it about wanting some sort of echo chamber (although, ironically, that’s what many of the denialists DO want - for all of society to be their echo chamber of heteronormative centrality and visibility with anyone else pushed into fringe zones of largely invisible “other” status).
It’s about endless, exhausting interrogation and continual sealioning to try to tear down or cast doubt over even the implied aspect of characters that are fairly clearly interpretable as LGBT. That’s the whole implication of this image: “No, no, those other lesbians don’t count! They don’t exist because Hasbro didn’t CONFIIIRRRMMMM ITTTT!!!!”
You talk about trying to force ships to be seen as “objective truth,” but no one’s doing that; rather this picture (and other debate-me-bro invitations just like it) are in reality the ones trying to create the perception of an “objective truth” that excludes many lesbian couples.
@Background Pony #8D4C
sorry that you’re so unsatisfied with the universally admired and reasonably well-handled lyrabon confirmation that you have to press for a much more poorly handled and only implied ship to be seen as objective truth by every single person in the fandom - but please go on about “muh erasure” when you can easily just stick to your desired echo chamber if you want to not be ““erased”” by a couple of clowns with opinions
also northern didn’t mention this but, as much as i like it, startrix is even more objectively not canon lol
@northern haste
Case in point to my previous. A fine instance of erasing the LGBT status of obvious LGBT characters through petulantly insisting “B-b-b-but they didn’t confiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirmmmmmmm it!!!!!”
@Moonbrony
No no, see, that’s not the (double) standard. Straight people get certain perks, like being able to be straight without being questioned on it relentlessly. Anyone LGBT, however, has to fight to prove they exist, and if they don’t fight hard enough, well, then they get to have that part of who they are erased from visibility by ruthless interrogation, debate, stereotype policing, and remarks about how “Well, she doesn’t look / act / talk / etc. like she’s gay.”
You don’t have to have a glowing neon sign saying ‘these characters are in a relationship’ to see who’s gay or not. Appledash is obviously a thing as well as Trixie and Starlight. All you have to do is view things with an open mind and be able to realise context.
Why was there so much discourse? It’s objectively right
You can have your ships all you want but these two couples are the only ones that were shown in the actual show?
Yes maybe they made this as bait and yeah it should be ignored but it’s not wrong.
My word, if I could “like” this comment, I would! I definitely agree

We have literally been told Appledash was left to interpretation. the episode only teased it that’s not confirming it

Thank you. That helps a lot. Now maybe your comment won’t get reported so much (gotta watch that Poe’s law).

Ah yes I love getting on one knee and pulling out my ring to show my friend it. Totally normal mhm.
Take a look at what? All the straight shipping the show doesn’t have for most of the characters?
The description is 100% accurate. Take a look at the rest of the characters.
Nah. The rest are hetro
Ohhh I didnt see that. Definitely bait haha
The picture is objectively right. The description, however, is not, and that’s what ignited the discussion.

They are scootaloo’s canon aunts and one line strongly hints they are not sisters
