“Rarity! Rarity! I caught a lizard!”
“Sweetie, do NOT bring that inside!”
“But he’s a really cool one! Look!”
“Put that thing outside- OH SWEET MERCIFUL CELESTIA!”
“…Wort.”
Well Dan up there gave me a chance to go back to my roots with the old RariSweetiChief thing, so here we go! Apparently cyborg walking tanks are not the only thing Sweetie can get her adorable little hands on. Squid-headed space lizards are just as findable!
Thanks.

Yeah, the father-daughter angle is what is was going for with their relationship. Sweetie’s his guide to Equestria, and he’s her guide to life. Your comparision to “The Iron Giant” is right on point.
Also yeah, Rarijack all the way.
Personally I saw more of a father-daughter vibe. Might be one-sided on Sweetie’s end; idk.
I interpreted this artist’s depiction of Sweetie and Chief to be more of a platonic friendship than a foalcon thing. He’s basically her Iron Giant, is the vibe I was getting.
I disagree. In the RariSweetiChief universe, Rarity is already in a relationship with Applejack (there were many depictions of the two together in the Tumblr), and while it has been speculated by fans that Sweetie and Chief could be in a relationship, said speculations have been constantly denied in-universe, because of the rather large age gap between Chief and Sweetie. If memory serves, he’s 40.
Edit: If anyone more familiar with the RariSweetiChief story sees reason to believe I’m wrong and Rarity is not actually in any relationship in-universe, tell me please.

Chief probably brought him over and Arby realized he made a grave error as soon as the small pony child started excitedly calling him a lizard
Or found him trapped inside a crashed insertion pod.
I don’t think Owl’s Rarity ever really cares tbh

It’s really hard to tell because Thel’Vadam (the Arbiter we are all familiar with, from Halo 2 and onward) has undergone various changes to his armor design - some in-canon, and some just random art style changes between games.
Personally I think this is supposed to be “the real” Arbiter (Thel), though his model design here seems to be a bit of a mix inspired by both his halo 2, 3 and 5 appearance. Plus, Ripa’ Moramee had a particularly fierce scowl - even compared to other elites in the same game, so I consider that an intentional facial feature we don’t see here.
Of course I can’t speak for the artist but most likely they intend for this Arbiter to be good ol’ Thel because Ripa was an overwhelmingly violent, immoral and evil bastard who would kill “lesser beings” before giving them even a hint of respect, whereas Thel is a pretty chill dude.
Even compared to other arbiters of the past, Ripa was considered especially dangerous because he lacked honor and discipline - the things that elite culture valued above all else. And he didn’t lack tradition because he was clever, he simply didn’t care because of how hateful and egotistical he was. He was a violent criminal.

The model is ripa.
No no, this is Thel Vadam. Ripa had jaw guards and was much larger than Thel. And on top of that, Ripa lacked any ethics.
it’s a fair trade-off - Sweetie Belle can have the Chief, and Rarity can have the Arbiter
that too XD
omg can we please get a crack shipping from this? I want Rarbiter to be a thing now. He wouldn’t have to even do anything besides just be himself, and she’d be obsessing over his natural charm.
