To be fair, being a transvestite has nothing to do with why people don’t like P.T.  
It’s more-so the things she’s done/said is why. (And this “I’m a victim” complex P.T. has.)
 
Like that stink P.T. rose over Bronycon’s Twitter saying “Our thoughts, and prayers go out to the Boston Bombing victims.” (Remember that last year?)  
P.T. got angry, and stated the new people in charge of Bronycon were “crapping all over her legacy” for saying that, and trying to claim they were promoting “religion/superstition.” (And even bashed religion.) Worst part was the half-assed apology P.T. gave after that, even bragging about donating to the Boston charity stating that “does more then prayer.” (So it came off as “I’m sorry, but not sorry” overall as somebody else said.)  
That kinda thing is why I don’t respect people like P.T., and why she has a bad rep’.
 
Still, you have to give Tara kudos for being a nice person, even to somebody like P.T.

Essentially this. I really have no idea of what exactly happened to get her all riled up, but I’ll be damned if anyone calls her any better than the other side of the coin, because her temper tantrums end up pushing more people away rather than garnering them to her side. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and if only she could realize how far she’s walked that road… but she won’t.

The official CG twitter feed broke the news back in December, though I see on their Facebook page that they just today stated they are still trying to make it happen. One can only keep their fingers crossed and hope for the best…

I don’t know about any embezzling or anything like that. But I do know that there was a “charity drive” for PonyToast back in July 2011, for which donators were supposed to get a John Joseco ‘Mane 6 on rocks’ print.
 
Like a fool, I donated. After a while, I wrote to Purple Tinker asking after the print, and P.T. replied that it would be on its way to me ASAP. I still haven’t gotten it. I know now I never will. I also haven’t donated to any brony charities anymore, and I never will.

Hell, I only recently learned who she was. Even if I knew what she looked like, I doubt I could be bothered to say anything one way or the other.

I’m not a fan of purple tinker but I have never seen any proof of the things people claim she has done not even a singe first hand account of the events. If you are going to claim someone has done something wrong please have some proof.

Yeah, so the obvious solution to that would be to emulate those that you hate most and stooping down to their level. Makes perfect sense there.

What about the whole Canterlot Gardens feud? From what I understand she was blowing things out of proportion there and ended up publicly apologizing for causing needless drama. Though I do wonder if she was responsible for that convention’s sponsors dropping out and effectively killing any chance of another CG this year (which pisses me off because it was a great time).

Let’s be clear though - Purple Tinker isn’t blameless in all this either. Regardless of whether the allegations of embezzlement are true or not, she responded by trying to get “rival” cons shut down by tattling to Hasbro, among other unpleasantness. There’s plenty of blame to go around in what has turned into an ugly, unedifying drama-sink that frankly everyone is best off ignoring and letting fizzle out.
