I feel like they would’ve said something if Starlight and Sunburst were a couple and that Luster Dawn was their child. Supposedly, Josh Haber wanted Starlight at least to be Luster Dawn’s mother, but Jim Miller was opposed to the idea.

There are some shippers who will do anything to say that their ship is canon. I suppose that’s one of the reasons I hate the theory about Luster being Starlight and Sunburst’s child. That and the reason it exists in first place. But that’s not what’s being discussed.
 
Point is people will come up with ridiculous things to “prove” their ship is canon.

You’re free to have any headcanon you want, but please don’t state it was “obvious” that Starlight and Sunburst were a couple. They’re the headmare and vice headmare^*^ of the School of Friendship, of course they were seen together.

Yeah and the dates doesn’t help either, Starlight and Sunburst didn’t show any romantic chemistry, on the epilogue roughly 20 years have passed, so if Luster Dawn would have been their child, then she Starlight should have been pregnant with her on the finale, for her to be around 18 or 19 which was around the same age Twilight was sent to Ponyville, and now I just noticed I wrote a bunch of text about the origin of a foal, just because I want to push my own headcanon, she is Stellar Flare and Firelight’s children, they both seem to be divorced/widowed and they showed great love/hate relationship, and I bet they would make the same mistake Stellar Flare made with Sunburst of sending Luster Dawn to the School of gifted unicorns before she could make friends… Boy I wrote a lot, please ignore me and keep your headcanons, as a beloved princess said once “there is no wrong way to fantasy”

That’s just it, she isn’t anyone’s foal, she’s her own separate character. Also, nothing was really romantic between Starlight and Sunburst.

Not buying it. It was painfully obvious by Season 9 that Starlight and Sunburst were a couple, and Luster Dawn looks too much like their hypothetical offspring to be any other couple’s foal.

Interesting, though I still feel like they would’ve said something if Luster Dawn knew Starlight or was related to Sunburst.

I can get behind this headcanon.
