Bite me, (it was more then half the screen, if you ask me) it’s still impressive given the limitations in earlier NES game cartridges.  
Something you wouldn’t understand having grown up with newer games, and systems I assume.  
Still, you got to admit, the NES was definitely graphically superior to the Atari.

Peach is my favorite Nintendo gal. I think she’s lovely, and she makes for a great pony.  
Though to me she’ll always be “Princess Toadstool.”

Yes. Roughly half the screen, with minimal animated parts, a mapper to change only the tileset. A cast roll that only shows one entry per line so it doesn’t hit the sprite limit…

Y’know, I never understood the hate for the ending of SMB2. It was the first game I ever beat as a kid, so I always liked the ending.  
I suppose it’s a li’l cliche’ nowadays, but it’s debatable if the whole game is a “dream,” or not, considering SMB2 takes place in “Sub-Con: The Land of Dreams.” (Plus Wart laughing during the “Cast” bit seems to imply something.)
 
Also, a screen-filling animated Mario, (which is graphically impressive for an early NES game, remember this is before console games had FMV) and a cast roll, is better then just the Princess going “thank you” like the first game.

Super mario 2 is my favorite, good music. IDK about doki doki thing. Still made a huge impact in mario (enemies)
