There are a lot of Fringe references in the comics. The arc story #17 to #20 is a clearly inspired in that serie, but in almoust all of the comic there are more subtle references. The watcher is just the most vulgar. For exemple, in the “Annual 2013” in the Canterlot library there is a few books with sugestive titles, one of then called “Crossing Over - by Bell & Bishop”.
