Hydration, stress, melatonin, I like to unplug about an hour before bed and limit caffeine consumption at least 4 hours beforehand. I also find putting an alarm clock across the room is useful as it forces me to physically get up to turn it off rather than just hitting snooze and slinking back to sleep.

redshift, by my bed, in the dark is even less blue light than a candle. with nothing to do but write. usually can’t even last a half hour.
also melatonin. artificial light messes that up, so supplements can help.
ofc this all only helps if artificial light is the reason you can’t sleep straight.
