Starswirl could blast him with his horn, the real Merlin I think was just some druid living in the woods so I don’t see him winning. Mind you, Merlin has different versions, in some he has actual magic, so that might tip the scales in his favor.

Which version of Merlin? I mean, most might think of the one from the tv series of the same name, and I haven’t seen it so I can’t say, but there have been numerous interpretations of the character through the years and across most forms of media. For example, I am fairly certain that Starswirl could defeat the alcoholic version from “Transformers: The Last Knight,” but I think that the one from “Disney’s The Sword and The Stone,” who was able to win a wizard’s duel by turning into a germ and infecting his opponent might have a chance.
