This is probably off topic but I was watching the video ||”shit boat “ || from Alestorm and immediately thought of the Parrot Pirates as the band.

I don’t think that would do it justice. Just calling them birds would seem like having no imagination.

I’m not saying that you don’t.

My little hang-up is that when you have a set world or universe and a race or species is introduced they have a name that they identify.

Kinda like in the Mass Effect series where different types of alien races are introduced.

I’m not hating the parrot pirates, I just think it would be nice if they had an actual name for them.

@redweasel
Oh I understood the concept behind it, because pirate captains tend to have a pet parrot on their shoulders. I get that, I just wonder if they have an official name for their race is all.

Really? That doesn’t sond fitting at all seeing as harpies are usually depicted as female. There’s got to be a term for them in the fantasy creature index. I appologize if I seem a bit obsessive, it’s just that calling them just “Parrot Pirates” just seems generic as all hell.

Was their race ever defined? The parrot people I mean. It’s like you have Equestrians, Hippogrifs, Abyssinians, Dragons, Changelings, Diamond Dogs, but the sky pirates? I dont think they have an actual term for their species. I only bring this up because when they are introduced they are only known as pirates. But to me it only seems fair for them to come from some kind of kingdom or nation of their own. There’s probably something I’m overlooking I’m sure seeing as I’ve never sat through the movie myself. I just felt like it was an attempted pre-holiday cash grab.
