Agreed :)
yea, i understand. Although i think wonderbolt academy showed more characterization than humor, and i was very surprised when i heard she wrote that episode. I feel like merriwether gets too much hate, even if she isn’t a very strong writer.
A rather large number of people do not like Mare do Well.
That’s pretty much it. Every other episode she’s worked on has had people criticize it much more harshly than those of other writers because of MMDW, leading to a sort of positive reinforcement that she’s worse than the rest.
Merriwether isn’t a bad writer per se, it’s just that she seems more familiar with writing with more malleable characters and settings, a la Spongebob. Now, don’t get me wrong: The stuff she wrote on spongebob still gets lols out of me. It’s just that FiM is (or at least, was) set up with stricter characterisations and setting, where you can’t really go around breaking characters and the setting just to make jokes.
Remember, for the vast majority of us, it was the characters and setting that really got us into the show to begin with
Is it weird i actually think merriwether isn’t a bad writer? But yes i agree, she would get torn apart by the fandom if that happened.
Kinda makes you wonder if she has any idea as to her standing in the fandom.
Same here.
>Merriwether Williams getting a twitter
I hope (more for Merriwether’s sake than the fans) that such a thing never happens.
…that poor woman
faints
You mean the fandom’s scapegoat?
That will only happen if Merriwether Williams gets a Twitter.
