it was supposed to come out last summer but battleship sucked.
but not only that, they also saw the very simple movie but very well acted and executed Avengers and they suddenly realized that cheap ass explosion summer dud movies weren’t gonna hack it.
If higher ups are publicly admitting it was a mistake it means they’ve learned.
And they still made fuck loads of truck loads of money off of all of the Transformer and Marvel stuff.
Battleship was so bad I’ve heard people who are high up at Hasbro say it was a mistake.

but all the Transformers movies made a shit load of money
plus they made a shit load of money with the Avengers
all those movies had toys and merchandise
so, money
Yeah, two critical box office bombs and Battleship would disagree.
Because they don’t have a guided marketed and sales team.
