She was only a unicorn for 3 seasons and an alicorn was 6
I think the wings are more for branding purposes than any continuity reasons. Twilight’s just more recognizable with them now and they don’t have to change her toy this way.
if that were the case then what’s with the wings before Twilight became Celestia’s apprentice she was a regular unicorn I imagine if things were different here she wouldn’t be an alicorn she’d be a unicorn still?
