Setting down rails is habit-forming for DMs because it’s fun to watch players follow them and piece together the clues… if you set it up right and the players are in the right headspace and etc. etc.

On this week’s Spudventure: Important things are happening to the Forgotten Ones! I’m still kind of reeling, to be honest.

Twilight Sparkle: I know this isn’t exactly an airtight case. We’ll have a hard time convincing anypony else. But all the things we’ve seen Cadance do today… The evidence is screaming at us.
Applejack: The thing is, she has the perfect cover. Ah’ve been makin’ an active effort not to throw around the word “Bridezilla”…
DM: Thank you.
Applejack: …but that would explain a lot of her cold jerk behavior.
Rainbow Dash: If this were a normal wedding, sure. But in the backdrop of this whole invasion threat thing? No way.
Fluttershy: I think so too. If she’s, you know, alright, then she should be trying to lead by example and help ponies feel peaceful and calm, not yell at them.
Pinkie Pie: Uh-huh! And if she really is so freaked out by all this that she can’t chill? Then, honestly, she’s not screaming enough!
Rarity: Everypony’s looking outward, while somepony on the inside is acting guarded and hurried. What does that tell you?
Princess Cadance: That we’re good at leaving a trail of breadcrumbs. But where to?
