Because Transformers are constantly rebooting making many universes it could be so it’s easier to assume it’s a new one made up but with obvious references to famous established ones like the Ark as the Earth base looking like it was in the G1 cartoon.

Kudos for the 1st issue acknowledging continuity would be screwed.
 
And why are we so hard on the MLP continuity and not the TF one? Why are we not questioning where from the TF continuity that part of the crossover is coming from?
