Today ‘n day it doesn’t really matter if the creators are from the California institute or not. The Calarts style is the name people asigned for the series which have the same goddamn style: Potatoe head, the worm smile, big eyes, and vivid colors. Until someone find a better name, it’ll stay like that.
Hirsch and Nefcy are the only two CalArtians
Pendleton Ward and JG Quintel graduated from CalArts and yet they get the pass
What’s even worse is that they’re using the official designs of Dipper Pines Star Butterfly Steven Universe Gumball Lion-O Ice Bear KO Craig Milo Sway Seay Pony Life Rainbow Dash and Cricket
Rebecca went to the School Of Visual Arts (SVA)
Ben Bocquelet went to a School in France
Víctor Courtright went to the Minneapolis College Of Art and Design (MCAD)
Alex Hirsch Daron Nefcy and Daniel Chong went to CalArts
Calarts is beautiful tho
Cherry picking from 80s cartoons and they missed The Smurfs and/or Mighty Orbots? Final Grade: D-
I dunno, I thought Ren and Stimpy was serviceable. It was no Spongebob, but then what is?
hi John K., don’t you need to go yell at Bob Camp some more
Look at this dumbass thinking he’s right.
Don’t treat opinions as fact
Not true because not all of those creators (or at least Steven Universe, Gumball and Pony Life’s creators) attended CalArts.

It literally came from noted pedophile and child rapist John Kricfalusi, who was complaining about the late ’90s prevalence of a thin-lined art style with exaggerated facial features in Western cartoons. He apparently thought the things he was complaining about were being taught at CalArts.
