He then develops a huge crush on her, until she rejects him in front of everyone, humilating him on Krusty’s television show. He then takes all his pent-up feelings and channels them into an incredibly intense portrayal of George Washington in their school play, with Lisa playing the part of Martha. He throws her valentine into the fire, blows everyone away with an incredibly intense performance, ending it with “Dear wife, if I could take but one treasure with me to the next life, it would be your tender kiss” as he ‘dies’ in-character.
 
So yeah, basically it was one of those episodes that kidney-punches you right in the feels.
