@DudeManGuy
Yeah, I have a question about that. How are alicorns representations of all THREE types of ponies? I can understand unicorns and pegasi but not the part involving the earth ponies.
hmm, read the source (wired is a really good one too), that little 30sec clip peaked my interest, I’m SO watching the new episode (I was gonna watch it anyway, but now I have more anticipation)
I honestly don’t know what to think of this, I mean I always expected her to transform into an Alicorn, but I expected near the end of the show, I mean if things aren’t changing, then it’s a completely wasted move that shouldn’t have been made
@Trickquestion
Basically this. As far as I’m concerned, this way of making her become a princess is rather hamfisted, to put it lightly. At least make sure you actually use it for more than just existing there. But, inevitably, this changes a lot of the core mechanics of the show and many of the things which brought the people to it. I am a bit put-off by the staff insistences this changes nothing, but I hope someone there recognizes you can’t just call a pony a princess and then keep in them in ponyville like if nothing had happened. Or worse, move them to Canterlot and do a rehash of old episode, but now in Canterlot.
Hell, this episode reminds me so much to A Return to Harmony it isn’t even funny. Well, except for the fact the ‘villain’ (I am not sure how to refer to the opposing force in this episode) isn’t as interesting as Discord, who got turned into a joke anyway. It’s essentially the same moves, with a different paint job. I am not impressed, M.A.Larson, not impressed at all.
See, I’m not opposed to things changing drastically (I enjoyed Young Justice’s second season more then the first due to the dramatic changes the time skip brought) as long as it’s done well. If Twilight is still going to be pissing around in Ponyville after getting wings, why bother having a coronation and waste everyone’s time and money. If you’re going to walk around calling yourself a princess, I expect you to do actual princess shit.
Yes, Twilight is becoming a Pegasus-unicorn hybrid, and a princess,
She transforms.
but that doesn’t mean things in the show’s world of Equestria aren’t going to change dramatically.
I might be reading this wrong, but I think this line state things are going to change dramatically, because it saying it doesn’t mean things aren’t going to, which means things will change dramatically…
Someone should get an editor to wired to make sure they aren’t giving the wrong message.
This actually makes me worry more, because normal antics are going to be noticeably odd with Twilight just moving and flying about. But bah, I got months to decide if to jump ship, depending on how the spoiler find me.
@DudeManGuy
Because I have yet to see anything in canon to suggest it.

A: She became an alicorn but not a princess which means she still had to earn the position somehow or
B: She’s only there temporarily before something big goes down and things change for the better.

It’s not obvious like the other two.
Yeah!
Equal rights for mud ponies!
