Peace is super fucking hard. I saw a political cartoon where Woodrow Wilson was giving the dove of peace an olive branch but it was closer to a log than a branch. The cartoon was in reference to the League of Nations, which was really ambitious for its time (and we all know how the LoN ended). Hell, the UN has had multiple slip ups like the time all the muslims were killed in Serbia in the 90’s. The UN has stopped a WW3, but there have been a shit ton of wars that have claimed millions of lives through the cold war, not to mention the ongoing wars in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, as well as major violence in Ukraine, South Sudan, Mexico, Venezuela, Somalia, and several places in Africa and South Asia. I don’t want to be a downer, but if NUMEROUS INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS haven’t achieved world peace, giving an alicorn a hug isn’t enough.
