One of them was her visit to the bat pony colony under Canterlot, to welcome the newborn foals of that year. It was never had any funfair, Luna went quietly, usually without her royal garb. Every year she holds the small ones and blesses them in the name of the Moon. It was a beloved tradition of the colony, and they were loyal subjects to the princess for centuries, Luna happily did this for them.
This significant year was like any other prier ones. The night came, Luna put on her robe and headed out on her own to the bat pony capital’s hospital. And there were all the young foals, big and small, waiting to be blessed by their princess.
However, one of them caught the eyes of the princess. It was a small filly, probably wasn’t even a month old. She had grey fur and dark mane and tail. She has some white markings on her coat, one of them in a shape of a star on her chest.
She took the filly in to her arms, just like the others. That’s when she heard the sad backstory from one of the doctors. Mother died at birth. A possible father is unknown. The foal was practically an orphan.
When the filly snuggled up to Luna, something hit the princess. Looking back on it, it may have happened in the heat of the moment, without Luna thinking it through. Who really knows. What matter is what happened after.
Luna decided. The little filly coming back to Canterlot with her.
