Again though, it really doesn’t matter anymore. It’s only brought up to remind the school about the crazy stuff they dealt with, with zero intention of further embarrassing Sunset, who, again, isn’t bothered at all. If the characters in the movie don’t care, I don’t see why bronies do

Leaving out the fact that AJ took an “all in good fun” shot at Sunny and smiled with Sunset returning the gesture, which IS COMPLETELY different from how Rainbow presented it.
 
In serious note, I’m just kinda tried of the continued mention of Sunset’s behavior from the first movie. It made sense to bring it up in Rainbow Rocks cause she was still on the path of redemption, but it seems like overkill if Friendship Games continues this fad the whole movie. Here’s hoping that is was just a small reference in the movie and leave it as that.

Except in the end it really doesn’t matter because the intent was never to humiliate Sunset Shimmer(as evident by the fact that she wasn’t bothered at all, and loved the assembly regardless and the school has pretty much forgiven her at this point), the intent was to show the obstacles the school(or really the humane 6) has overcome throughout the year, which just happens to include Sunset Satan

Did AJ make that shot by spending time and money to design and print off a 9 card poster, and then show it to the entire school? Or was it an off-the-cuff comment in person with their closest friends listening? Because those are two very different things when it comes to humiliation factor.

Everyone has that one embarrassing anecdote, that one thing in their past that friends and relatives continue to bring up until it becomes an inside joke. Sunset Shimmer’s just happens to be a bit more embarrassing than most.
