Sketch dump 001 June 28 2017
A big sketch dump of some sketches that I’ve done over the past couple of months. I hope to color these someday. (I apologize for the photos. I don’t have a scanner.) 😅

Here is some information on each of the pages:

1. Princess Celestia and Clover the Clever. Was testing out grayscale with Clover.
2. Princess Celestia practice.
3. Wanted to practice a human so I drew Human Princess Celestia. (She looks a little bit like Ariel from The Little Mermaid.) Rainbow Dash and Luna practice. I really don’t draw Luna or the Mane 6 enough.
4. Princess Celestia looking out into the distance, missing someone. The second pony is my OC Golden Autumn. Haven’t completely figured out her story, but her original name was Andria and she is the daughter of Princess Celestia and an unnamed dragon ambassador. In the past, relations between the dragons and ponies were very strained, even more so than depicted in the show, and many did not approve of the marriage between the two races, especially the dragons. Many dragons saw the marriage as a betrayal to their own kind. A few dragons even went as far as to kill the ambassador and sent his claws to Princess Celestia for good measure. They were severely punished for their crime by The Dragon Lord, but it came too late. Andria grew up with the stories of her father and wished to be an ambassador herself to prove to dragon kind, pony kind, and other races that peace between the races can be achieved. She had the ability to shift between a pony form and a dragon form to appeal to both sides. However, with Andria being a hybrid and her status as a princess, she was subjected to bullying and downright hatred. She didn’t have very many friends and so withdrew to the sanctuary of books. (She is very smart and has a thirst for knowledge.) She guards her books, her only friends, with her life and one day she traveled beyond the castle walls, with her mother’s reluctant blessing, and settled down within a forest. One day, a group of desperate ponies heard of a dragon that was guarding a vast treasure and so traveled to where Andria lived. They were shocked and disappointed when they learned that the treasure “the dragon” was guarding was books. Andria tried to convince them that knowledge was the best treasure of all, but the ponies became angry and a fight ensued. During the fight, Andria was blinded in one eye and hit in the head by a magic blast, causing her to lose her memory, but not before she was able to cast a spell to save her precious library. The spell took Andria and the library to a cave in a far corner of Equestria and that is where Andria has remained ever since. She does not remember much but she does remember the fight and so became distrustful of pony kind. Unable to remember her real name, Andria renamed herself Golden Autumn. Celestia has been looking for her daughter ever since her disappearance, but the two would not reunite for a very long time. That is until a certain young dragon, named Spike, happened to stumble across Golden Autumn’s cave one day during one of his travels with the Mane 6. (If you read this far, kudos to you!)
5. Discord being Discord. (I realized I didn’t draw his beard by accident. Simba Facepalm Emote Maybe he is younger here.)
6. Another OC, a changeling named Iris who was found by Princess Celestia during one of her futile searches for Andria and was raised by the Sun Princess. Iris helped Celestia through her pain over losing Andria and so grew up healthy and strong. The two are very close. Iris disguised herself during her younger years, but as she grew older she wished to not hide who she was anymore and wished to provide a sanctuary to all misfits, especially to other changelings. She currently rules over a small land in a far corner of Equestria known as the Shimmering Isles.
7. Celestia and Luna pratice.
8. Celestia receives a warning from the sun devourer, Skoll that the end of days is near. Haven’t quite figured out his design. I thought it would be cool if Celestia and Luna had to face off against the brothers Skoll and Hati, the wolves from Norse mythology that chase the sun and moon across the sky until Ragnarok when they finally succeed in catching and devouring them.
