Kind of waste nobody else aside from the Mane 7 got to “pony-up”.  
Like we literally see dolls of other characters like the CMC “pony-up”, why bother doing that if only the Mane 7 got to do that?

Boulder and DHX don’t handle writing

Yes, Boulder Media made some EG shorts. But those shorts didn’t match the others that DHX had made. You know, Sunset acted (and looked) like in the Rainbow Rocks and also there was Sci-Twi with a post-Friendship Games look etc. So there’s no continuity… So even if they did season 3 or another EG series, it wouldn’t be a continuation of what DHX studio created.
 
Even when Ishi Rudell was asked “- Is Ray (Sunset’s Pet) canon? -” He replied that they as DHX don’t have access to what Boulder Media has created… So I guess Boulder Media wouldn’t have access to what DHX was producing either.
 
 
And wasn’t Equestria Girls meant to be continued in the IDW comics?

I just headcanon that Sunset ends up having to return to Equestria permanently.

The only reason they wouldn’t end Equestria Girls properly is because they made it into one of those other doll-based TV show, like Monster High and Bratz. No real ending.

I already accepted the fact they won’t give us new Equestria Girls things. I wished for 3rd season too. But I gave up.

Thats not actually a good argument.  
Shows can change animation companies Boulder even animated some shorts And they were using to boom toon not Flash.  
Also I dont think the Flash that is ending is exactly the same as the animation software
