Despite being the daughter of the princess of friendship, Cipher has no time for such things and will more often than not be found locked up in her room in the castle of friendship, where she sits bent over a book or two.  

Annoyed with her parents constantly urging her to go outside and make friends. They both see a lot of their past selves in her. 

Is especially fond of grandpa Night Light: he's the one who taught her how to stargaze and inspired her interest in the night sky. 

Dislikes her elder cousin, Flurry Heart, and feels like she’s an undeserved alicorn due to not having to put in any work to achieve her wings and/or horn. She often gets into arguments with her mother over it. 

Regards Tarte Tatin as her only friend outside of her family. 

Plucks at her feathers when anxious or stressed. 

Is moon-aligned and has the ability to see into the minds of lost ponies in order to help them find their way. This is a strain of Queen Luna’s dreamwalking ability.
