I can see that. I kinda have Spike as someone with a build like Leatherhead’s build.

I know what you mean, I like the smaller Dragon designs but I didn’t like they basically just got right of the massive dragons. Would have been nice to see them in gauntlet of fire and the hatching episode, but what you gunna do.  
I will say though, i think it worked for Spike and Smolder to be that size for the finale, it would have awesome to see Ember one last time. That would have been the one to show off the massive change

Agreed. Gigachad Spike works if for no other reason than seeing the little guy finally able to look down on others is a bit of vindication for all the times he was overlooked. Still, I really wish the show hadn’t abandoned the more traditional dragon design,as in Dragonshy and Owl’s Well That End’s Well. Like, imagine if Spike in The Last Problem was just starting to go quadrupedal, and resembling an actual adult dragon. Instead we got Gigachad, and Smolder looking like she’s fighting anorexia.
 
Still, it works, though your design is a lot better! ^_

Only one thing, Older Spike still doesn’t have eyebrows.

While I don’t hate Chad-Spike, I do prefer your design as it is one of the best out there. Chub-Spike reminds me of Sludge, so, yeah, no.
