alright i caved. i don’t even know how i thought of this but it’s my new OTP. plus they do have cotton candy colors, it’s cute ;-;

  • Sooooo as most of you already know, Rainbow Dash is (or, was lol) paired with Dumbbell in my universe. I’ll be honest, I never really liked that ship. I mean, the “enemies to lovers” trope is my absolute favorite, and it’s not that I hate this ship (it’s alright), but it just never really clicked for me. I kind of just paired Dash with someone so I’d have an excuse to introduce her kiddos

  • So, I’m retconning the whole thing! Dumbbell is never in the picture, at least not in her kid’s lives. Maybe he and Dash dated at some point, but he’s no longer gonna be Dash’s partner or the father of her kids. Astra, Greywind, and Thunderbird will be Rainbow’s and Clear Sky’s biological children. This is a super big crackship but what can i say, i really love it. now for a tiny bit of very rushed backstory

  • Clear Sky really liked Quibble Pants, and for a while they had a pretty decent relationship raising Sky’s daughter, Wind Sprint. Their breakup was mutual, and they’re still friends to this day. Quibble still loves seeing Wind from time to time, and ultimately he and Sky decided to call it quits because they both agreed they worked better as friends.

  • Dash and Clear Sky first met through Quibble Pants, and the first thing Dash did was compare her to Daring Do. Basically insulting her to her face. She hadn’t meant for it to come out so condescending, but it totally did, and she instantly regretted embarrassing herself in front of the pretty girl. Buuuut Sky didn’t seem to mind all that much (she can take a joke, and even some blatant honesty). And honestly the two really hit it off after. Sky was a perfect balance of calm and perspective (and also curiosity) to Dash’s impulsive hotheadedness.

  • A few years later when Wind Sprint was a teenager, Dash and Clear Sky reconnected through a Wonderbolts event that Wind Sprint had signed up for. They kicked it off like they had just seen each other the day before, and eventually Dash came to realize hanging out with a unicorn wasn’t so bad. Sky had a huge interest in Dash’s work as a professional flier, and Dash admired Sky’s devotion to her daughter.

  • Rainbow Dash honestly felt pretty uncomfortable when things got to the next level. They’d began to spend much more time together and would unconsciously walk super close to each other, shoulders touching, and Dash just felt guilty. Quibble was one of her really good friends, and she felt like she was betraying him by taking her relationship with Clear Sky beyond just friendship. Thankfully, Quibble was very quick to give his blessing. He genuinely loved seeing how happy two of his best friends made each other, and surprisingly, Wind Sprint was actually very fond of Dash too. Both of them were supportive.

  • Unicorns are very, very intimate and affectionate, super “touchy” when they like you. Clear Sky is no exception. She’ll often preen Dash’s feathers for her, which is an extremely intimate behavior among pegasi.

  • Dash was very happy having just herself, Clear Sky, and Wind Sprint as a comfortable lil family, but by the time they settled down, Wind Sprint was already moving out. They felt kinda lonely in the house despite having each other, so they decided to expand their fam a lil bit and that’s where Thunderbird and Greywind come into the picture. Astra arrived shortly after!

  • Wind likes her half siblings, but since she’s so much older they don’t have the closest of bonds. Still a good relationship though! Wind was also very fond of Rainbow Dash from the very first time she met her, and wasn’t too hard on her as she slowly became part of the family.
