Not only that, King Vorak expected Tirek to turn on him, as well. By his own words, almost since birth he looked down on his son for being “not right” and he believed Tirek’s gift for magic would lead him to lust for more power of a different sort. That’s why he wanted to stamp it out, not because he thinks magic is weak but because he’s scared Tirek will use it against him if he learns too much of it.
This comic is based on the official comic that actually went over Tirek’s backstory. Season 9 referenced that comic which means it’s probably canon.
In that comic, this was stated to be their relationship. Tirek had special talents and his father never supported or encouraged them so he came to Equestria and attempted to conquer it to show his father that he was good enough.
Even Discord’s one line about it in season 9 strongly implies that backstory “He’s afraid he’ll never be good enough for dear old dad”.
The dude needs a friend who accepts him way more than almost any other villain ever did and yet he’s the villain that was given the absolute least.
In canon tirek’s reasoning seems to be oh waw waw boohoo i have daddy issues, starlights is boohoo oh my friend left so if his backstory in series was expanded like this in canon then yeah otherwise at least starlight had good intentions..at first, Even if the reasoning how she got to that philosophy doesn’t really make sense lol.
So I can see were your coming from but i disagree of him somehow deserving it more but within this comic:fix context i almost completely agree with u, trying to murder the mane 6 is still pretty bad not sure if starlight tried to do the same she at least tried to blast them but not sure if it was intended murder.
Shouldn’t a character who’s primary motivation for being evil stems from a lack of acceptance be a prime candidate for the magic of friendship?
I think it’s due to the fact that Tirek was born with unusually strong magical power, much suggests that the centaurs do not use magic as a rule, maybe they just unknowingly assimilate background magic without noticing it. But Tirek logically could not have been first out, Sendak proved this, in that the old wizard was knowledgeable and insightful - so magically strong centaurs were not unknown to Vorak, who may have reacted negatively to the fact that his son - a prince - could be so strong, yet born into a position of power.
Sendak is the proof that magic was not generally frozen out in the land of the centaurs, although there was obviously very little practical use for magic, and as Scorpan was into at the beginning of this comic, does not have strong negative significance for the magic user in encounter with his / her people. The centaurs did not consider magic to be important, as Vorak emphasized, and we know that he considered the magic of his son to be unusually strong - so strong that he feared this potential. This blinded him to his son’s desire for acceptance and recognition.
As we now see; Tirek has lost confidence in his father and become furious at being opposed, thus taking the first step towards the furious magic-stealing centaur in Equestria. He will then prove that his father was wrong about him, and will eventually become corrupt until he becomes the young rebel we have seen in “Fiendship is magic 2”. For if he were to oppose his father who would only become stricter and more brusque in the face of such resistance from a disrespectful son - it would ultimately lead to open enmity and distrust.
The next step for Tirek will be to find a magic master - Sendak, probably - and he will probably try to overthrow his father from power, but this attempt may have failed. We know it had been several years since “Fiendship is magic 2” ended, until the episode when Tirek invaded Equestria as an adult centaur. There is certainly a fascinating story there, which may come in the future. But for now, Deusexequus has shown us a possible interpretation of the prehistory of how Tirek originated, and it is so logically conceived that one cannot find otherwise.
AJ and Rainbow now understand why Tirek has become the bully they knew.
They should have made Neighsay the villain instead of Cozy.

Again, I’m not actually mad. I’m actually kind of amused that, after sending a kid to hell, they doubled down with an ‘and I must scream’ situation. But I can see why people would be mad.
Given what we saw in Cozy Glow’s memory, I’d say a little bit of both.
Now he wants to prove him wrong.
