I’m not going to drag this on forever so I’ll simply say this. They may never officially cancel it. Ever.
 
BUT…
 
They may just decide to never release content for it again. MLP’s got new projects to go onto. Gen 5 movie’s supposed to be out later this year and I assume a G5 series will follow suit either late this year after the movie or early next year. I honestly see Ponylife and the comics as being the last real content G4 puts out and even they’ll end eventually. Unless something comes out relatively soon, I’d speculate there’s not really any hope for an EQG future.

Okay. Lets say you get one last special, what do you even expect to happen? They’ll have some singing, some old characters come back, MAYBE a proper sendoff but probably not much more.
 
Or, more likely, it just won’t come back. Look, I get how it is having a show you want be cancelled with no sendoff. Sometimes you wish for it to keep going or at least have the courtesy to say goodbye the right way but it doesn’t always happen. Don’t dwell on it though. Rewatch EQG, the movies, specials, shorts as many times as you feel like but don’t just hold out that hope its coming back forever. You’re very eager to see it return but we all need to move on eventually.
 
Serious question, how long will you wait if there’s no announcement or updates on the series? Like, there’s no official cancellation but no one puts out or says anything. How long will you keep holding out for more content?

There’s no proof that it’s over. We’re still waiting for hasbro to confirm whether or not they’ll continue the series whether the staff stayed or they hired new staff to fill the void.
