Without a doubt, Blueberry’s favorite day of the week was when he gathered potion supplies in Ponyville Square. Looking through all of the plants and ingredients, getting to chat with the stand owners, listening to the musicians on the street, he loved it all. He assumed that his favorite flower pony, Petunia, had a new selection of herbs to peruse. But before he could even make it to the center of town, he watched in silent terror as a large mare stomped towards him, staring into his very soul. He usually had no reason to fear anyone in Ponyville, especially one of Ponyville’s own nurses, but she looked ready to brawl.
“Blueberry!” Cherry Syrup snapped, making sure he didn’t have the courage to bolt away. She stopped only a few feet away from him, her head raised and ears flicked back in anger. “Did you sell some random stallion a love potion to give to me?!”
Blue froze, only knowing what his customer had told him. Nothing. “I-I sold one a few days ago, but he didn’t say who it was for! I didn’t really ask.”
“So you think that as long as you get paid, it doesn’t matter how it’s used?! My mothers had to drag me to Zecora for an antidote after he drugged me!” Tears started to form at the corners of her eyes, but Blueberry couldn’t tell if it was from anger or sorrow. “Do you have any idea how scary that is? My mom had to watch me go through the same thing she did! She had no choice, no consent, when she and Big Mac were given that potion and she had to watch her own daughter go through it!”
Without knowing what else to say, Blueberry Tonic tucked his tail and did the only thing he could think of. “I’m sorry, okay? I had no idea who he was going to use it on! Most of the time, they don’t even use it because they chicken out.” He paused, seeing by Cherry’s reaction to his last sentence that he was getting off topic, and angering her in the process, even though tears streamed down her face. “I was just–”
“Making a quick buck.” She cut him off, completing his sentence for him. Her hoof raised, pointing at him as her brow furrowed. “If you ever make a potion like that again, and sell it for some unsuspecting pony to drink, the outcome will be on you. Half of Ponyville was all but destroyed last time somepony got their hooves on a love potion and I will not stand for it! You’d think the son of the Princess of Friendship wouldn’t be so dense.”
Blueberry stood there in shock, blown away by her words. “Well, when you say it like that, you make me sound like some ignorant rich kid…” He muttered, lowering his head so he didn’t have to look at the mare in front of him.
“Maybe that’s exactly how you come off to ponies.” Cherry wiped her eyes with a hoof and stared at him for another moment before starting to walk past him. “Oh, and I told the mayor and your parents. Just because you’re royalty doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want without consequence.”
At her final words before stomping away, the stallion broke out into a cold sweat. If his mothers knew about the whole situation without hearing his side of the story, he would be in big trouble.
Who was he kidding? Even if he explained, he was still going to be getting quite the talking to from his moms. He glanced back to Cherry Syrup, who was leaving ponies on either side staring back at Blueberry with mixed emotions. Without much hesitation, he quickly slunk back to the castle, thinking today might not be the best day to go shopping after all. If he was lucky, he’d be able to sneak into his room without his parents noticing, but he knew the chances of that were slim.
“Mom’s gonna kill me…” He grumbled, ears flopped back as he trudged home.

A bit shorter piece this week, I know. But I felt like a scene like this would hit suddenly and end just as quickly, between Cherry crying and Blue hurrying home in embarrassment ^^’
