I wanted to do a few small pics for Mother’s Day here in the UK, and I decided to start off with Rarity & Esmeralda:>
 
To sum up this shot:  
I went for the idea that Esmeralda feels like she needs to live up to her mother’s expectations, since she is a famous fashion designer and also one of Equestria’s saviours alongside the rest of the Mane 6.  
Eventually, Esmeralda decides to confront her mother about this. She tells her about how she feels like she needs to be a fashion designer just like her, and feels like she wouldn’t be as famous as her or wouldn’t make her proud.  
Rarity sees in her daughter’s face how distressed she is by this, so she took the little filly’s hoof, and told her that she doesn’t need to follow her hoof steps just to make her proud; it doesn’t matter what career path she takes, she is still her daughter. And she’d always be proud of her no matter what.
 
After hearing her mother’s words, and close to tears, Esmeralda hugs Rarity tightly, who hugs her back.
