So im literally writing this scene into a story I writing ( wont link here because it will be maybe 2 years before its published… its novel length) the person who commissioned this piece actually is a friend of mine and one of the prereaders of the story. ( the drawing was made first though i only decided to write it in once I saw it) but yes, canonical and central to the story is that Nyx loves foals, because instead of judging her, they see her as a “ monster on their side” which is the coolest thing ever if you are between the ages of say 5-14. Foals love her and she loves them right back.

I love the idea that “Nightmare Moon re-born”, despite what legends say, actually loves foals and reads to them. It’s like that one Terry Pratchett novel where the Tooth Fairy was actually a Bogeyman who took a liking to children.

Thanks to the many moments that Nyx spent with her Mother being read stories, moments that she holds very dear to her heart. She started to make public readings to foals all over equestria, she calls them Night-time Stoires with Nyx Sparkle.
