Princess Altalune, more widely known as Princess Luna, is the second oldest living alicorn in the world. Her name roughly translates to “over the moon”, and she rules over the moon, the stars, the night, and dreams. This is Princess Altalune post-nightmare-ification. I imagine that she kept a few Nightmare Moon traits when she reformed, such as fangs and cat-like pupils, and her mane is stuck between pre- and post- nightmare. I changed her coat to white-ish blue to reflect the whole “moon” bit, and decided to give her bat wings covered in stars. I took away the giant black spot on her butt, and gave her a bunch of smaller blue dots on her body. I want Celestia’s redesign to be similar in that aspect- their show designs don’t really come off as sisters, and while I want to keep the whole “different as night and day” thing, I also want them to have small similarities.
