I think also there’s something in rabbinic interpretation about not being allowed to make a representation of the temple one, which had 7 branches

Ten years of changes - Celebrated the 10th anniversary of MLP:FiM!

i mean, bit late for Channukah…but its to represent each night of Hanukkah and an extra one to light the others. the Menorah in the Holy Temple is now a symbol of Judaism and a hope for better times…in case you were looking for an answer…
