Interesting question. Guess the answer’s a teeny bit on the BDSM side:

The act of making one wear diapers indefinitely, barring toilet usage, segways logically into diaper training – the eventual voiding into diapers without conscious thought or even awareness it’s happening at the time. When you take off the diaper and voiding continues, into, say, clothing, and it needs to be consciously cut-off (if it can be) and the individual needs to retrain him/herself to get to the toilet in time, that’s unpotty training. Long-term diaper training can become unpotty training after a while.

Since Tree Hugger’s letting it all go without a second though, well… I think you can figure out what that means, since there’s no end in sight for this ;)

It follows kind of a progression.

Tree Hugger wets her pants meditating too deeply, Fluttershy diapers her as punishment. Tree Hugger shirks her job, she’s left diapered and bound, there to “collect fertilizer” in a different way. After that she becomes Fluttershy’s baby, of sorts.

To he honest, it’s mostly ideas I just kinda dig. An adult baby hippy (preferably stoned) giving off submissive vibes just seems cool. If it’s anything, the idea that Tree Hugger’s kind of the stronger one, but sees what her submission does for Fluttershy and the dynamic going on around her friend… that’s kind of why she does it. It’s like love, but it’s also more than that. It gives Fluttershy control in a safe way that they can share, and strength and authority over another pony, which in front of her animals would probably warrant respect. Afterall, she peed in Fluttershy’s house, and much like one her animal friends she’s made to wear a diaper if she wants to continue to stay inside doing the thing that caused it. Confidence in dealing with others no longer being the victim would also probably be nice for a pony like Fluttershy, practice turning the tables, being the dominant one. Tree Hugger is independent enough, afterall, she could just leave if she wanted to… so it’s safe for her as well.

Hopefully that ramble made sense, though feel free to interpret these drawings any way you like. It’s part of the fun ^^
