I feel weird about leaving bgs completely white too, but sometimes I do just because I only want to draw a character and not any background stuff, I do like to at least put some color or slight gradient and not leave it pure white, pure white is super hard to look at

Lol, whenever I’m feeling too lazy I don’t even bother with backgrounds, but sometimes they add some interesting stuff to a drawing
Whenever you draw backgrounds they’re way better than anything I can do right now, especially when you do fabric, shading clothes is still a challenge for me
