Butternut Silken (or Butters) is the only child of Applebloom. He’s very shy and antisocial due to being raised with an overprotective, overbearing mother. He’s incredibly sweet when with ponies he trusts but around anyone else he’s selectively mute and kept to himself.
 
Butters’ father is unknown, whether he was a donor, ex, or one night stand is completely unknown. Applebloom hasn’t said a word and others respect her boundaries. Despite being overprotective AB still loves her son with all her heart and is raising him to grow up into a kind, gentle, stallion.
