I always believed that the bag is the face, but it’s a magical one that can talk and show expressions. Some of your art does fuel that headcanon like this example:
What’s really underneath is a neck stump, that’s why the bag isn’t any wider. If there is an actual pony face being concealed there, then the bag would have been wider.
I’m sure you’re gonna say that this art here is not canon because I saw another fan work that you quickly debunked too XP
