Oh, a series with a fandom very similar nature to MLP:FiM, it even got Rule 9, counterpart of MLP’s Rule 85, Yukkuri as counterpart of Fluffy Pony.
It may have predated MLP, even to 1996 (same year as Naughty Dog’s legend), but MLP went global faster somehow.

I am only 23 years old as of this year. When 2007 came, I was literally only 9 years old. Far, far too young to have watched anything on YouTube (heck, during that time we didn’t even have any devices that were capable of playing YouTube videos in our house! All we had were our little PS2 that we could occasionally play games on). So no, I am not like you in that I know about what was popular on YouTube in 2007. So yes, I could definitely escape it on YouTube, and I did (mostly by not being on YouTube whatsoever).
@Enmity1498
Just look up Marisa Stole the Precious Thing or Cirno’s Math Class, Homework Never Ends or Chirumiru, back in 2007 you couldn’t escape it on youtube. And i did say PC. Or hell there’s even Night of Nights.
@andrevus
If they were meme famous, then I was the one hidden under a rock during that time, as I have never heard of that series until now (and I am pretty sure they weren’t released for any Nintendo platforms, which were the only game consoles I ever played any games on).
@Enmity1498
A series of japanese bullet hell games for the PC with a wide cast of characters that were meme famous around the world from 2006 to 2011, and the series is still going.
@Enmity1498
There was a miku version of the meme that got really popular back when most japenese meme videos on youtube were direct uploads from nicovideo, when Touhou was making it’s stride.
@Background Pony #4FEA @Shritistrang
The Leekspin meme doesn’t involve Hatsune Miku, though. If I recall correctly, that was from a completely different anime series altogether.

What in the world is TouHou?

Look up Leekspin
Leeks are just standard for Miku.
