I’m not gonna lie, I actually like King Sombra more after season 9. He himself is not silly as I usually depict him, but I like his character far more than the brooding, tragic character that we usually see in the comics and most of the fan stories about him. I guess I’m just tired of the dark lord trope where he is no nonsensical, so threatening with his serious voice and whatnot.
I really want to see more of THIS King Sombra than the old one. While I still consider the IDW comic as his origin, I like to think that he behaves the way in the show as a way to increase his ego and not be emo.
Sombra holding the plans to make a Dark Crystal Yggdrasil complete with a full set of stairs with child-like excitement.
me too
I’d go into details, but it always ends in looooong debates that never end because no side can agree on anything.
Personally I myself did not like his season 9 version much. At least in the beginning. I guess I too had that idea of sinister pony-Sauron in my mind. But have to admit, season 9 Sombra grew on me.
Heck, now I can honestly say that I like every version of him!
Fair enough. I personally liked the season 9 version over the comics or fan depictions though.
Reminds me of the purple man from Jessica Jones. I can imagine him as a young arrogant brat who discovers his talent for mind control and Dark magic and becomes even more monstrous as he grows up.
I think it might be because everyone had time to make up their own headcanon about him after season 3. I mean we did not get any info about Sombra or his origin, motives and so on besides comics. Then after six seasons he comes back with an actual personality. I guess it’s difficult some people to be accept this as canon Sombra.
Edited
He’s overused. Like Nolan north and Troy baker.
I’m just disappointed because he wasn’t voiced by Steve Blum
People aren’t a hivemind though.
People complained he didn’t have a personality and thus was the worst villain.
He finally gets a personality and people still ain’t happy.
