Actually silk isn’t made by moths it’s made by silkworms when they create cocoons to become moths. Silk is the material the cocoons are made out of.

I wonder if Chrysalis’s silk will have magical properties?

Mothra’s abilities actually vary from version to version, but her powers mostly consist of poison powder, strong gust, laser beam shot from her antennae, and a stinger from the most recent movie King of the Monsters. A universal power she has in any version is silk making and attack, she is a moth after all. Mothra isn’t really about strength and battles but about rebirth. No matter how many times she gets killed, she will come back as a larvae and eventually grow back to her usual form. She may not be as powerful or intimidating as Godzilla or Ghidorah but she is basically immortal.
