This time around, I decided to do a, I guess, companion thing? To my
Cheers to all dads! I did last year :) Back then I chose to draw Capper and his kids as I hadn’t done much with them before, and he’s a single dad in my nextgen-verse which I wanted to acknowledge I guess? So this time I decided to give a bit of spotlight on one of the single moms in my nextgen verse; Spitfire, and her colorful triplets. I haven’t shown them much –really only their
very brief introduction and a
little comic about their origin. So here’s some more scenes in their and Spirfire’s life :) It’s… rough with three of them, but she tries her best and is suprisingly patient and calm; I say suprisingly, because you’d get whiplash watching her first interact with wonderbolt cadets and her kids. For one, she’s several orders of magnitudes quieter haha
Out of her kids, she’s probably closest with Iris, who shares her love for physical activity, even if the form is different. When Iris was little, they often went for gallops, and tried things like show jumping, hoofball, swimming, and other earth-bound sports together. Spitfire tried to spend equal time with her kids one-on-one, but she secretly enoyed her Iris-time the most.
Next is Skydancer (née Prism Raptor, pre-cutie mark). They’re a bit more difficult for her to relate to, as they are great at flying and could very well join the wonderbolts in the future if they just trained a bit with her. But… they don’t like it. So she hides her dissapointment and tries to bond with them over what they do like doing, but she’s always a bit afraid they can sense she’s not as enthusiastic as she was when they tried racing.
Neon… look, Spitfire tries. She really, really does. It’s just that Neon wishes she didn’t quite so much.
